Hannah, whose real name is Zahra, is one of three Christian converts serving two-year prison sentences for their participation in a house-church.
Hannah was arrested alongside one of the other converts following a raid on a house-church in Shahriar, near Tehran, in December 2023.
After two months in Evin Prison, she was released on bail equivalent to $20,000.
Hannah and the other Christians were sentenced in July 2024 on charges of “forming” and “membership” of “a group or association with the aim of disrupting national security” (a house-church).
The Christians’ appeals and applications for a retrial with the Supreme Court were both rejected, and in November 2025 they began serving their sentences in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
